Boulet has vetoed City Ordinance No. CO-025-2026, which aimed to initiate a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) for a Downtown-Urban Core Redevelopment Plan. The ordinance, approved by the City Council on April 7, 2026, included the allocation of $500,000 for the project.
Boulet’s veto, issued on April 20, 2026, was based on concerns regarding the absence of a thorough legal review prior to the ordinance’s adoption. She emphasized the need for comprehensive analysis from the City-Parish Attorney to ensure the enforceability and long-term implications of the agreement.
